Digital information literacy describes a person’s ability to understand, evaluate, and create information in multiple formats via computer and the Internet.
Databases
Databases are used in many applications, spanning virtually the entire range of computer software(Paradox and other SQL programmes). Databases are the preferred method of storage for large multiuser applications, where coordination between many users is needed. Even individual users find them convenient, though, and many electronic mail programs and personal organizers are based on standard database technology. Software database drivers are available for most database platforms so that application software can use a common application programming interface (API) to retrieve the information stored in a database. A database is also a place where you can store data and then arrange that data easily and efficiently for later use.
Use of computers technologies in the Museum
Basicly if you join everything from above such as Database using local network to store information about museum fixtures, graphics and everything else in the inventory.
We can use it to play short movies in the exhibitions according to the shown matter.
We also can use a computer equipped with a scanner device for digitizing documents or graphics, or just store digital photographs and other useful documents. We can provide an access to the internet for the visitors of our museum. It is very common that a museum has its own security system based on computer using digital cameras and storing recorded data on the hard-drive. There is a huge variety of ways of how to use a computer.
