Australia is divided into 6 states and 2
mainland territories. Each one has its
own parliament, government, Premier
and Governor.
Thanks to its enormous size, Australia has a wide variety of
landscapes including rainforests, mountain ranges and deserts.
New Zealand has many different landscapes as well. In the north part of the
country, we can find beaches and volcanoes. The South Island is more
mountainous, including a major mountain range called the Southern Alps.
New Zealand was divided into provinces, but
they were abolished in the late 19th century
so today there are no administrative units.
