Znalosti:Student knows basic biological characteristics of individual weed species, weed classification in relation to weed biology and possible control. He understand the principles of weed communities formation and dynamics and also the influence of particular agrotechnical operations on the weed occurrence in field and garden crop stands. He has orientation in principles of preventive and direct management of arable weeds. He understand biological and physiological principles of herbicide mode of action and selectivity. Student knows possible roles of herbicides in the environment. He has information about main herbicide groups, their efficacy and possible use in cropping systems. He knows the principles of progressive trends in weed management, like precision weed control and use of transgenic crops tolerant to non-selective herbicides.Dovednosti:Student is able to indentify not only common arable and garden weed species, but also the rare ones in different growth stages -generative phase, seedlings, seeds or fruits. He can analyse the sources of weediness on arable land, to determine potential weediness based on weed soil seed bank composition. He has got the skills to use preventive and indirect methods to minimise weed occurrence in crop stands. He can project the system of weed management in particular crop stands, on grassland, and on non-agricultural land. Student is able to assess the efficacy of this management. He has skills to monitor and analyse the influence of herbicides to non-target organisms and to the environment. He can design herbicide trials, evaluate biological efficacy of herbicides, and statistically analyse obtained data.Kompetence - komunikace:Student is able to work both in the team and/or under the leadership of other person. He can communicate in Czech and foreign language with the use of professional terminology of this particular subject. He has the skills to formulate, discuss, and to present his own opinion, he can comprehensively share the information, thoughts, to concretise problems and to present solutions.Kompetence - úsudek:Student is able to do his work creatively and initiatively. Can assess and apply information sources (professional literature, documents, databases, web pages etc). During decision making process uses his own knowledge together with other professionals. He is competent to organise work for other employees, to evaluate their work and to control it.
