Cíl
Students will learn about system attributes of agricultural production. The strong relation of agriculture to the environmental conditions will be explained. Basic tools of agricultural management will be placed in broader context. Main concepts of crop rotations, soil tillage, and crop protection will be presented. Information will be given about novel and progressive methods used in crop husbandry. In practical lessons, students will create a project on farming practices commonly used in their countries. They will evaluate the environmental conditions of concrete area suitable for farming. Subsequently, they will design a functional crop rotation. For each crop in their rotation they will propose technology of soil tillage and crop protection methods.

Znalosti:Students have basic knowledge in evaluation of policies, measures and schemes at EU level. They know basic views on EU agricultural and rural development policies with regard to their evolution, notably those relating to environmental functions of agricultural practice. They understand the extent of synergies between the environmental and socio-economic functions of agriculture, how and where they can be funded by policy. They are able to identify existing and emerging policies, measures, elements and schemes, notably those with a potential to affect soils, water, air and landscapes. They begin to evaluate consistency of principles of linking policy objective to its effect.Dovednosti:Students demonstrate good orientation in basic theories influencing the objectives of EU agricultural and rural development policies. They know basic methods for designing, implementing and assessing policies, measures and schemes, notably in view of their impacts on soils, water, landscapes and air. They have a basic overview of relevant policy institutions.Kompetence - komunikace:Student is able to work as a part of a team. He/she can present and defend one's own views, adapt them slowly according to new information. Student can use professional English on this topic and sustain communication with qualified specialists. He/she is familiar with ethics of communication in scientific and applied community.Kompetence - úsudek:Student can work of one's own initiative. He/she can explore and assess available information sources, including academic literature, policy evaluations and grey literature on the internet. Student can structure and carry out applied research. He/she understands the purpose of professional decision support tools and can apply them as appropriate alongside one's own knowledge. Student understands limitations to one's own knowledge, is able to co-operate with other professionals, and is responsible for one's own results.
