Cíl
The subject should provide students of the study courses "Genetics and Breeding of Livestock" - the basic knowledge on theory and practice of animal breeding and animal genetics. The students should obtain basic information and knowledge above population genetics and above theory of breeding value prediction, selection and hybridization. Great emphasis is placed on the correct orientation in breeding methods with emphasis on their application.

Získané způsobilosti
Znalosti:Students know and are able to orient as the user in the principles and practices of breeding farm and domestic animals. Students understand the basic principles of breeding programs and can apply these principles. Students know the importance of genetic parameters can explain the basic principles and applications. Students can define the theoretical and practical aspects of breeding methods for individual species or breeds of farm animals.Dovednosti:Students can, on the basis of theoretical and practical knowledge to design specific procedures and objectives of the breeding animals population. By using genetic parameters, students are able to competently estimate the population response to a specific breeding program. Students self-oriented in new findings of relevant research institutions and individual breeding organizations, and are able to apply this knowledge. Students are able to explain the basic genetic principles and conditionality between different traits. Students are able to take advantage of genetic diversity for specific requirements, design the most appropriate population and breeding program.Kompetence - komunikace:The student is able to operate under the leadership and the teamwork. Students are able to act within their professional knowledge, skills and competencies in Czech and foreign language, using technical terminology of the subject. Students can clearly communicate their professional opinions.Kompetence - úsudek:Students take their work creatively and initiative. Students are able to identify and apply information resources (literature, documents, databases, web sites, etc.) and further classify and evaluate the results and conclusions of scientific research. Students are able to plan, support and guide the work of other team members.
