Cíl

The main aim is to form practical experience and theoretical knowledge about the role of microorganisms in the environment. Main topics are: the description of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, the forms of microorganisms and their significance in environment especially in biogeochemical elements cycling (carbon - nitrogen - sulphur - phosphorus). The function of microorganisms in soil, water, food, and feed will be explained. The use of microorganisms (biotechnology) in different technologies will be also stressed.

It is able to describe the principle of biological treatment of wastewater. They can describe the presence of microorganisms in food and feed. Their have knowledge of the presence and role of microorganisms in the rumen, gizzards and digestive tract of humans and animals in general. Graduates general knowledge of the interaction of the immune system in pathogenic and potentially pathogenic and commensal microorganisms.Dovednosti:Graduates are able to prepare basic microscopic preparates as vital staining, negative staining, simple staining and Gram staining. They can perform basic microbiological testing of drinking water. Graduates are able to determine the number of microorganisms in raw milk and fermented milk products. They are able to isolate and identify microorganisms from different environments.Kompetence - komunikace:Graduates may act as a team member but also as a manager of a small to medium team. They are able to communicate using technical terms in the fields of food agriculture and anvironmental mikrobiology. Their views clearly articulate and are able to convincingly present. They can identify problems and propose effective ways to solve them.Kompetence - úsudek:Graduates approache to their work independently, proactively and creatively. They are able to analyze situations, problems and tasks using their own knowledge and new information available within the information databases and other sources. They are able to apply theorethical knowledge to specific problems. Graduates can also analyze, monitor and evaluate the work of captured personnel.
