Získané způsobilosti

Znalosti:Students know special soil science terminology and have advanced knowledge of soil composition and soil properties. They can describe the relationship of soil to other components of the environment and the role of soil in ecosystems. They can explain soil functions. They know soil-forming factors and understand their influence on soil development. They know importance of soil for water management in landscape, for nutrient retention, plant growth, and detoxication of xenobiotics. They orient themselves in soil classification and are able to define and describe principal soil units according to the international WRB classification system. They understand the importance of soil properties for overall soil quality and for its exploitation and protection. They understand the effect of soil management on its quality. They know main possibilities of the amelioration of unfavourable soil properties (acidity, unfavourable textural composition, compaction, etc.). They have deep knowledge about processes of soil degradation and possibilities of its elimination. They understand behaviour and cycle of principal elements in soil.Dovednosti:Students are able to describe soil profile. They can recognize, name and characterize main soil types. They can collect disturbed and undisturbed soil samples. They can perform basic soil laboratory analyses, as for example particle size distribution, soil reaction, or organic matter content. They can create protocols about soil analyses and their results. They can evaluate the results of basic soil analyses.Kompetence - komunikace:Students can work under supervision or in a team. They communicate in English language using special soil science terminology. They can formulate, discuss, and present their own opinions in soil science. They can present soil information and thoughts in a comprehensive way to experts and broader public. They can concretize problems and suggest possible solutions and procedures for soil improvement and protection.Kompetence - úsudek:Students can work creatively. They can evaluate and apply information about soils from different sources (literature, databases, internet, etc.). They are able to classify and evaluate results and conclusions of scientific research in a coherent form in soil science, soil conservation and protection and related fields, and to create own opinion. They are capable of effectively planning and organizing tasks for employees .
