Cíl

The aim of the subject is to obtain knowledge in biological, economical, and environmental principles of animal production, production features and management of main species of farm animals. The tuition includes lectures, theoretical and practical trainings in a school and farms.

Získané způsobilosti

Znalosti:Students have basic theoretical and practical knowledge in biological, economical, and environmental principles of production traits and main and by products of farm animals. They have an overview of production systems and technology in individual categories of cattle, sheep and goats, horses, pigs, and poultry and know the most common systems of animal housing.Dovednosti:Students can use available information sources for an assessment of the herd management, housing and a waste storage and disposal. They can evaluate biological, operating, and economical effects of animal production on the environment.Kompetence - komunikace:Students are ready to team and individual work in a development of rural and landscape areas. They can formulate, present and discuss his knowledge and opinions and he is able to explain the importance of context and arguments. A student is able to receive and assess knowledge and opinions of others.Kompetence - úsudek:Based on the analysis of necessary information, students are able to assess the herd production system and suitability of animal housing, and handling and storage of solid and liquid manure. They can identify strengths and weaknesses of animal housing and suppose corrective actions.
