The subject is dedicated to those PhD students missing previous MSc studies of relevant subject, where the fundamentals of soil and water relationship were explained, included their role in the hydrologic cycle. The basic knowledge of hydrostatics and hydrodynamics of soil water at PhD level is developed, there are explained the transport processes of water and solutes within soil profile with emphasis on the physical background. The themes of natural resources protection in system of soil-water-atmosphere and related plants are included. The part of the subject content is related to the theme of PhD thesis of each PhD student as much as possible.

Získané způsobilosti
Znalosti:The student is able to present and use large up to date knowledge of the present science in the subject of hydropedology. She/he is able to explain well processes in the system of soil-water-atmosphere including the links to the plants. She/he can synthetise knowledge of related subjects (pedology, hydrology, hydrogeology, hydrology, and water science), which he studied during MSc or sudies as a PhD student. She/he largely knows the state of art of porous media behaviours under laboratoř and field conditions. Student is ready to explain the theory of physical processes in vadose zone and the relationship of soil-water-atmosphere. She/he largely understands an interaction between the solid, liquid and gaseous phase of soil, understands the determination of soil hydrophysical properties of this process. Her/his knowledge is directly related to the idividual PhD study plane.Dovednosti:The student is able to prepare a summary of the most advanced piece of knowledge in the subject of her/his PhD. The student is capable to evaluate this summary and to apply the knowledge taken from other related subjects. She/he can find unknown fields of a relationship of soil-water-atmosphere. Based on this knowledge she/he is able to formulate scientific hypothesis and to propose the ways of research to get certain new knowledge and enlarge the general knowledge in this field. The student is able to discuss the subject and be critical with respect to the new knowledge in hydropedology; to compare results of other authors and formulate clear conclusions.Kompetence - komunikace:The student is able (at least in one foreign language) to formulate and present up to date scientific knowledge in hydropedology to the international scientific community, to give reason for defined scientific hypotheses, goals and metodology of scientific work and to present her/his own results consist of new knowledge.Kompetence - úsudek:Within the subject the student is motivated to work creatively and progressively. Based on the presented hypothesis she/he is able to formulate the research goals, and related to them the relevant metodology for successful reaching of the previously formulated goals.
