Znalosti:Students are trained in fixing their knowledge obtained during lectures within small groups, where they can easily communicate among classmates and with the teacher. They learn how to work with determination keys (especially with Key to the Flora of the Czech Republic and with illustrated Atlas of German Flora written by Rothmaler et al.). They will obtain valuable field experiences for the applications in the field of Forestry botany (i.e., knowledge where the specific plant can grow, how its morphology is variable, what are habitat requirements, which features are crucial for the determination). Students gain practice how to work with botanical magnifier and with the determination keys just in the field. They will fix their theoretical knowledge and further deepen it with practical skills.Dovednosti:Students can well oriented themselves in the field after going through this course, i.e. they know where to find diagnostic and important plant taxa for the forestry, they know typical features of individual seasonal aspects of vegetation, they can characterize the respective biotope type. They can identify the habitat-characteristic plants and name them according to Latin nomenclature, together with help of identification key. To be sure in the determination, the students can sample the individual plant and to prepare a herbarium specimen from it. They also know the institutions where they can consult specialists in floristics. They can infer from the ecological demands of individual plant taxa the main forest type (i.e. moist, dry, acidophilous, calciphilous, deciduous, coniferous, montane, lowland forests etc.). They can also identify the main types of non-forest vegetation communities according to the plant assemblages.Kompetence - komunikace:s Students are able to lead the group of people in the field and they can control efficiently the steps resulting into the task fulfilment. They can govern themselves not only under the leadership of the teacher, but also in the own teamwork of students. They can formulate and present their own hypotheses, deliver clearly specific information, ideas and suggestions to others. The students can also focus on the core problems and give the efficient proposals. Kompetence - úsudek:Students can distinguish plant features important for the correct determination of a taxon as based on the determination keys and they are able to argue why the determination is made just for the specific plant taxon. For forming his own opinion s/he utilizes his/her own experiences, can confront them initiatively with the experiences of specialists. They can orient themselves in the scientific nomenclature and can follow the scientific discussions.
