Cíl

The aim of this course is to enhance knowledge of students in domestic animal nutrition and feeding in tropical and subtropical conditions. This course is focused on monogastric animals - pig, poultry, horse, rabbit and carnivores. Special attention is given to their metabolism of nutrients, characteristics and utilization of tropical feeds, forage conservation and compound feed manufacture, nutrition of monogastric animals during heat stress, new system of evaluation of feedstuff for domestic animals, nutrient requirements for various categories of monogastric animals and optimization of diets for monogastric animals in tropics and subtropics.

Znalosti:Students enhanced their knowledge in the field of nutrition and feeding of domestic monogastric animals in tropics and subtropics. They know methods of feed testing evaluation for domestic monogastric animals, of digestibility determination, utilization of tropical feeds and nutrients requirements for horses, pigs and poultry. They know how to calculate and manufacture feed premixes and feed additives for monogastric animals and use the computer software for optimization the compound feeds from tropical and subtropical sources. They are familiar with heat stress impact on animals and how to reduce this impact by improved nutrition.Dovednosti:Course graduates have sufficient knowledge in the field of nutrition and feeding of domestic monogastric animals in tropics and subtropics and they can calculate and prepare feed rations and compound feeds with utilization of tropical and subtropical feeds for farm animals. Students are able to pass their knowledge to farmers. They are able to take advantage of their knowledge in management and research.Kompetence - komunikace:Course graduate are able to work under leadership as well as to engage in team cooperation, they can discuss the problem and make decisions by preparation of improved feed rations for domestic animals (monogastric). They are able to communicate in English language while using expert terminology in animal nutrition. They have ability to formulate and present their own opinions, to pass on information or ideas, specify problem and possible solutions.Kompetence - úsudek:Course graduates are able to approach his work creatively and actively. They are able to utilize important reference sources (scientific literature, databases, experiences of their own and others). They are able to organize and supervise work of inferior workers. Course graduates are able to take responsibility for their decisions in animal feeding and management of working group.
