The aim of the course is to provide students with overview of system of zoological classification, main phylogenetic relationships of important animal groups and biogeographic information related to those groups.

Znalosti:Students have deep knowledge in systematical zoology, they know significant representatives of main groups of invertebrates and vertebrates in tropics and subtropics, including their classification into biogeographic areas. They know the current system of eukaryotic organisms and they are aware that zoological system is relative and it is changes due to modern methods.Dovednosti:Students can understand animal kingdom. They can systematically classify the main, most famous and most spread representatives of each taxon. They have an overview of the importance of the main representatives of the taxa in terms of human (parasitic microorganisms, pests, ancestors of domesticated animals, dangered animals,.... They can set the representatives of taxons within the biogeographic area and describe the phylogenetic relationships.Kompetence - komunikace:Students are able to communicate with experts from zoological institutions and also present representatives of zoological groups to the general public.Kompetence - úsudek:Students are able to apply theoretical knowledge of the specific conditions, they are able to recognize the jurisdiction of a particular animal group and assess it in terms of potential risks and benefits.
