Cíl

The aim of the course is to provide tools for analysing value of biodiversity, to determine the most important threats to biodiversity and to present the main conservation principles, including the assessment, establishment and management of protected areas.

Znalosti:Students have knowledge about importance of biological diversity, main threats for the biodiversity and principles of biodiversity conservation. They know various approaches to biodiversity assessment and conservation at different spatial scales, from regional to international level, including international advisory and funding organizations. They have basis of legislative background and the most important international conventions.Dovednosti:Graduates will be able to evaluate the level of diversity of the species and conformity of monitored areas in order to compare and classify the communities. They can offer a proposal of the procedure for biodiversity maintenance and its support on the local level.Kompetence - komunikace:Students are able to explain the importance of biodiversity in other fields of human action and to communicate with specialists and general public.Kompetence - úsudek:Students have the ability to judge the level of the local biodiversity, upcomming hazards and to suggest arrangements for its support. They can provide a valuable opinion in cases of interdisciplinary projects which can, by any chance, affect the level of biodiversity.
