The course provides general information about the basic groups of primary and secondary metabolites of plants and their taxonomic distribution. Attention will be paid to the economically and / or environmentally significant metabolites, their existing and potential resources.

Znalosti:Graduates have a comprehensive knowledge about the basic types of structural metabolites, biochemical pathways of primary and secondary metabolism and their taxonomic distribution. They have a basic knowledge of the physical and chemical properties of metabolites, their use in the isolation of bioactive natural substances, and the link between structure and biological activity of key metabolites.Dovednosti:Graduates of the course are familiar with the scientific literature and databases and manage common laboratory techniques aimed at the isolation and identification of natural products, focusing on their chemotaxonomic distribution.Kompetence - komunikace:Course graduate is able to communicate in English using the terminology of the subject. He should be able to manage and control the work activities or projects and can lead complex and diverse working teams in the Czech Republic and abroad.Kompetence - úsudek:Graduate is able based on knowledge of relevant information resources, laboratory techniques and experiences with projec management to identify problems related to the field phytochemistry and chemotaxonomy.
