Cíl

Obecným cílem předmětu je připravit studenty k možné práci v jiných kulturních prostorech (tj. oblastech se subtropickým a tropickým zemědělstvím). Úspěšné využití odborných znalostí získaných studiem odborných disciplín není možné bez umění jednat v daném kulturním prostředí tak, aby dotyčný projevil citlivost pro formálně i neformálně institucionalizované projevy místního života. Předmět studentům poskytuje základní informace o sociologii, o způsobu sociologického myšlení a jeho významu pro případ působení v "nedomácích" kulturách. Studenti jsou rovněž seznámeni se základními metodami a technikami sociologické/sociálně antropologické práce vedoucími k poznání oněch kultur.
