Cíl

The goal is to (1) extend the students´ knowledge gained during the MSc (Ing) courses, (2) bring principles of scientific work based on criticism of recent understanding of nature and ecological principles and (3) stating alternative hypotheses that may be statistically tested. The conceptual models presented in the course particularly emphasize fundamental laws and other modern theories in ecology and their applications in conservation practice. The course is structured in line with the usual hierarchic approach: organisms interactions populations communities ecosystem. Selected studies are employed to illustrate how biotic and abiotic environmental factors influence populations and communities.
