Cíl

A subject Ecosystems of Central Europe is set for students in DSP, who are focused on the application of ecological attitudes to the protection of environment and care for the protected areas. The subject covers topics such as common principles of creating of ecosystems, their classification and principles of their protection and management. The aim of the subject is the understanding of the principles of care for specially protected ecosystems and their protection. A student is supposed to make a project corresponding to the topic of their dissertation. The defence of the project is a part of the examination. Other preparation is done in a form of self-studying with the use of literature recommended by the lecturer.

Znalosti:Graduates of this subject have good information about the water and terrestrial ecosystems structure and function. They can name main species occurring in these ecosystems and describe their adaptations according to the environmental characteristics. They understand habitat classification and sorting. They are familiar with historical connections in ecosystem management, with the people's impact on the site change in a way of plant and animal species occurrence. Emphasis is given at water and wetland ecosystems, forest ecosystems and grassland ecosystems and agroecosystems.Dovednosti:Graduates of this subject can characterize main types of Middle European (European) ecosystems; also they are able to apply received knowledge into the field of their interest - technical and aguicultural modifying of landscape. They can utilize their knowledge when trying to reduce negative impact of technical hits into the landscape on the particular ecosystems and species. When solving complicated and unpredictable problems, they act professionally and are able to look for qualified help.Kompetence - komunikace:Graduates of this subject understand specialized terminology, which allows them effectively communicate in specialized subject contents. They can lead effective discussions with the public administration and with non government organizations. Students are able to work in teams; they effectively speak to scientists and public.Kompetence - úsudek:Graduates of this subject know about scientific terminology and problematics. They are able to create critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis of new and complex ideas.
