Cíl

The course is dedicated to the challenges of spatial planning. Spatial planning is defined as a tool for management of environmental change. The course will have a practical part focused on design of development strategies based on deliberate analysis of key factors that define the potentials and constraints of growth of the subject case-study. The defined development strategy will than be formulated through the legal means of spatial planning in the legal environment of the Czech Republic.

Znalosti:The course is focused on receiving deep knowledge of planning theories in basic areas of sustainable development, with emphasis on social cohesion and environmental protection. The knowledge is received on the base of studying a wide spectrum of scientific literature.Dovednosti:Student is able to design research for spatial planning and, on that background, independently develop scenarios and strategies of spatial developmet and change. S/he is able to co-ordinate team work and work in scientific research team.Kompetence - komunikace:Student is able to guide teams and co-ordinate activities inside the teams (i.e., communicate scientific and topical issues in the team). S/he is able to defence results of team work and communicate them in comprehensible way to scintific as well as lay audience.Kompetence - úsudek:Student is able to seek for and critically evaluate scientific literature in the theme of spatial planning, and gain necessary entries from scientific as well as lay communities (in Czech as well as English/other world language). Based on own knowledge s/he is prepared to critically evaluate planning documents of all levels.
