Cíl

The main puprpose of this subject is the mastering of the basic principles of hydralic and hydrological modeling. The subject content is the theoreticall knowledge from following subject areas: the development of hydrological and hydraulic modeling approches, models classification, the basic water flow equation and their numericial solutions, a schematic watersheds representation, data management. Subject is also focused on modeling of rainfall-runoff process. The special emphacy is put on the model s calibration, validation, optimization and sensitivity analysis. The following case studies are part of the subject: the flood eventprediction; prediction the effects of change in watershedson water resources.

Získané způsobilosti

Znalosti:Graduates have excellent theoretical knowledge in application of hydraulics and hydrological modeling based on mathematical approaches to solution of complex problem in water research. They have systematic understanding of studied problems and are fully qualified for further research and development in the field hydraulic and hydrology. The graduate´s knowledge serves as a basic for seminal thoughts allowing his/her partaking in research. They have deep scientific knowledge of mathematics, hydraulics, hydrology, numerical methods and mathematical modeling. They are fully acquinted with scientific methodology and methods.Dovednosti:Graduates can apply their advanced knowledge and specialised skills and method, including synthesis and evaluation. They have proven their capacity of self-reliance in the areas of scientific, research or development activities, by producing a peer reviewed scientific publication thus contributing to the expansion of the frontiers of knowledge.Kompetence - komunikace:They communicate well with their colleagues and the larger international scientific community about professional, ethical matters within the scope of their specialisation. They are self reliant in leading up international teams of scientists. They communicate well in two world languages at least at the B1. Their basic competence in IT is superior to the requirements of the ECDL Certificate.Kompetence - úsudek:Graduates are capable of critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis of new and complex ideas. They create systems models of real processes, asses their behaviour, formulate scientific hypothesis and evaluate them scientifically. They are able to find new special solutions of complex problems.
