Conservation genetics is an introduction to study of conservation biology based on modern genetics methods. Individual lectures cover either overview of modern population genetics, or application of genetics in practical nature conservation.

Znalosti:Student is able to orientate in fundalmental molecular technologies, that are being used in studying all sorts of biological problems. He has good view of basics of genetics, population genetics and molecular biology. In this regard he is familiar with conservation biology and potential use of DNA analysis.Dovednosti:Student is able to use knowledge of modern molecular technology and is able to present its results in realtion to conservation biology. Gained knowledge of the basics of population genetics will allow the student to correctly set the management of the endangered populations.Kompetence - komunikace:Student is able to discuss the problems of the subject. He is capable of teamworking. He can present his own ideas and understandably share information, thoughts and find possible solutions.Kompetence - úsudek:Student is able to critically evaluate the findings in the subject of conservation genetics based on the knowledge of modern mothods of molecular biology and population genetics.
