Cíl

The course emphasizes both individual and collaborative learning through the use of individual and group work, and seeks to stimulate each student's understanding of the entire economic system for agricultural and food products from consumption back to production and agricultural inputs. The students will have got the opportunity to understand in detail the world, the EU and Czech agri-food system - its participants, characteristics, functions, interdependencies, and major marketing trends. They also would understand of the role of trade policy in agriculture and the effects of various trade policies, issues and agreements on domestic and international competition and prices, consumption, production and trade of key commodities.

Znalosti:Graduates have basic theoretical and practical knowledge from agricultural and commodity economics. They utilize basic economic terms and are able to predict developments in a range of crops and livestock production.Dovednosti:Graduates can use their knowledge of analytical and statistical methods as well as methods of cost calculation to analyse the situation in the agribusiness sector. They can apply the methods to actual data and correctly interpret the results from the sphere of commodity market.Kompetence - komunikace:Graduates have sufficient knowledge for basic communication with specialists. They are able clearly and intelligibly to present their thoughts and ideas to experts as well as non-specialists.Kompetence - úsudek:Graduates are able to choose suitable methods for the analysis of commodity markets, to interpret achieved results and to formulate appropriate conclusions from the study of available data sources.
