Content of lectures:1. Observation and experiment, limitation of experiments in ecology, general rules of hypothesis testing,confirmatory and exploratory data analysis.2. - 4. Experimental designs and corresponding ANOVA models:Latin square design, nested designs, split plot, repeated measurements.5. Modern regression methods (Generalized linear models, generalized additive models).6. Multivariate methods in ecological research - resemblance function, classification, gradientanalysis.7. - 8. Methods of gradient analysis: basics, techniques (CANOCO). 9. - 10. Gradient analysis in evaluation of designed experiments.11. Graphical display of results, CANODraw, CANOPOST.12.
