Contents of lectures:1.Distribution of the chemical compounds between the compartments of the ecosystem, fugacity, fugacity capacity, distribution modelling, chemical reaction in the compartments of the ecosystem, persistent compounds, sampling of the air, water and soil.2.Pollutants in the atmosphere, sulphur and nitrogen oxides, ozone, carbon oxides, greenhouse effect, trace organic pollutants in the atmosphere, their concentration and determination. Water pollution. Isolation and concentration of volatile, semivolatile and polar compounds. Soil pollution. Isolation and concentration of inorganic and organic compounds in the soil.3.Chromatographic techniques and their use for the determination of the various groups of the pollutants. GC-MS and LC-MS techniques. Extraction with the solvents, solid phase and with the supercritical fluids. Determination of metals in the water and soil. Determination of anions, ion chromatography, capillary electrophoresis.4.New environmental contaminants. Processing of the analytical results, recovery, R.S.D., limit of detection and quantification, validation of the analytical methods, reference materials, QA/QC, GLP.Contents of laboratories:Practical training of the methods covered by the lecture.
