Cíl
This course is an introduction to the theory of international trade. The main objective of the course is to understand the basic principles of international trade. At the end of the course students will be able to understand what determines the flow of goods across countries, to explain major models, basic forms, concepts and most importants issues of international trade. Moreover, students will be familiar with the most important institutions in this area and will be able to assess and develop arguments for trends in international trade.The course will also cover applocations to a number of topics of current interest (e.g. the current debates on the design and operation of international organisations such as the institutions that have been established to liberalise (GATT) and manage (WTO) world trade).
