Cíl

This is an introductory course in English lingustics.Its aim is to provide the students with the basic information about language and its functions, the levels of language, the scientific study of languages, the various disciplines of linguistics, as well as the characteristics of the English language - its past and present.At the end of the course, students will be able to understand the role of language as an instrument of human communication and the as subject of scientific inquiry.
