Lecture 1Digital libraries and metadata interoperabilityIn the lecture we will discuss indexing of digital collections, with an emphasis on digital libraries. The challenge of metadata interoperability is addressed as well as potential ways for solving interoperability problems.Lecture 2Linked open data and the semantic webIn the lecture we introduce the semantic web and the idea of linked open data. Ontologies and ontology modelling and how it relates to indexing is discussedLecture 3RDF, Topic Maps and ontology modellingIn the lecture we will look at two languages for ontology modelling, RDF/S and Topic Maps. RDF schema will be used for modelling a simple ontology.
