Cíl

The course deals with methods of the IR research. Students will learn the background of the IR research and practical application of some selected research procedures. The course focuses on the application of case study methodology, content analyses, grounded theory and qualitative comparative analyses.The overall aims of the course are to understand the IR methodology and to use the above mentioned procedures in research.

Osnova

1. Introduction into the course (requirements, outputs, literature) and special compulsory literature. A brief overview of the IR research and the basic terms (science, hypothesis, paradigm etc.).2. Developing effective research proposals.3. Introduction into the content analyses.4. Case study research.5. Grounded theory.6. Grounded theory application in the IR research.7. Introduction into the comparative methodology8. Introduction into sets theory, Boolean algebra and QCA.9. Crisp sets QCA methodology10. Fussy sets QCA methodology11. How to refer about research outputs.12. General discussion with students.13. Credit written test.
