Sylabus
Classes meet for 6 teaching hours per week (= 4 hours of real time), divided into two blocks of 3 teaching hours (= 2 hours of real time). Students will be divided into groups of 12-14 at the start of the semester. Each group will be assigned a specific teacher and specific class times. Depending on the exact number of students registered, we generally run 6-10 groups of classes, at various levels of ability. Class JCZ001 runs every semester. The availability of the more advanced classes is subject to there being enough students to make a class viable, but in principle it is possible for them to run in both Winter and Summer semesters. Most semesters we run 3-6 groups for absolute beginners (JCZ001) and 1-2 classes at each of the higher levels. A detailed schedule of class times for individual groups will be posted on the Faculty of Social Sciences website. Once assigned to a particular group, students will be expected to stick to the schedule for their group. It is not normally possible for students to combine classes from two different groups. Because these classes are available only to students who pay the attendance fee, it is not possible for students to register for these classes in SIS by themselves. Students will be registered in SIS by the International Office staff, after we have received payment. Although it is possible for students to reserve place, and to start attending classes before payment is received, they will no be officially registered until they have paid.
Literatura
The basic textbook for classes JCZ001 and JCZ002 will be confirmed in class. Texts for classes JCZ003 and JCZ004 will be assigned depending on the specific level and needs of the students enrolled.
