Cíl
Upon completion of the course, the students will be familiar with the party system of the United States of America through studying the political parties functioning within the system, challenges the third parties make, and should understand the grassroots movement that reflects the polarization among the electorate and puts pressure on established political parties thus increasing the factionalism within the parties.

Požadavky
There will be a short written test during at the end of the last class consisting of identification of basic concepts, understanding of relevant terms and responding to short statements related to the class discussion.By April 15th, the essay covering a debate topic of interest dealing with the course contents will be due by e-mail. The essay should should consist of four pages of standard format or 1000 words approx.
