Rules for performance of examination at the Institute of Histology and Embryology in the subject General Histology and General Embryology Rules for registration for exams and cancellation  A student can only take the exam if registered for the term in SIS.Registration for an exam is not determined by obtaining the credit but taking the exam is.Deadlines for registration for particular examination dates and for cancellation will be entered into SIS.(These will be specified by the particular Institute but must be in accordance with the Rules, Article 12, Subsection 2, and Article 15, Subsection 8)Point (3)Failure to turn up for examination and apology The student who fails to turn up for the examination that he/she has registered for cannot register for another examination date (see Regulations, Article 6, Subsection 16, and Rules, Articles 8 and 9).The student must apologise within the next 7 days to the principal teacher of the subject in writing or in electronic mail, giving and substantiating the reasons for the apology. The student will be informed about acceptance of the apology and also deleted from the original list so that he/she can register for another date. The principal teacher of the subject can require specification of the apology or its reasons if he/she finds the apology insufficient.Point (4)Re-examinations A student can take an examination in a subject for three times as a maximum, i.e. the student is entitled to two re-examinations, and no extraordinary terms beyond that are allowed (Regulations, Article 6, Subsection 16). However, if the student does not exploit the above options within the set examination dates, this does not entitled him/her to a special date of examination to be appointed for him/her personally (ibid.).No more examination dates ("terms") will be set.Further, no examinations can be taken after the end of the second part of the regular examination period in September, or after the last term announced. No extraordinary terms or "Dean’s terms" are allowed.Additional rules for re-examination may be included here, as specified by particular Institutes. Point (5)Rules pertaining to the course of examination The exam day - a written test:1) Students have to be present in front of the exam room at the time announced on the SIS and on the institute’s web page.2) Only those students who present a valid index a) will be let into the exam room and will be allowed to write the test. Students will hand in the index during presentation, they will leave their belongings at the reserved place in the exam room (they can keep only their writing utensils - a pen is necessary!) and will be instructed to take up their place according to instructions.3) After all the students take their places the tests will be handed out and instructions will be given on how to write the test correctly. During these instructions the students will leave the tests untouched in front of them.4) The students will start to answer the test questions first after they are told by an examiner. There will be a time limit one hour to answer all the questions. Students have to work independently. Any help or use of any notes and other study materials is strongly forbidden, while relevant rules will be followed in this case b). After the answering of the questions is started no student will be allowed to leave the place c). Each page (sheet) of the test should have the student’s name, the number of study group and signature on it. In case any of these are missing, the student will get 0 points from questions on this sheet.5) After the time limit runs out, students stop answering the tests after they are told by the examiner. They will leave the test on the desk in front of them. The tests will be collected and handed over for evaluation. After that the students leave the room d). Evaluation of the testExaminers and other academics are going to evaluate the test. For each correctly answered question a student gets 1 point. For each incorrectly answered question including answers with formal errors a student gets 0 points.  Announcement of resultsA result of an exam, i.e. a mark corresponding to a range of achieved points, as described elsewhere, will be pasted in SIS on the first working day after the exam at the latest.a) Index can not be replaced by any other document and has to contain an intact photo. Credit from General Histology and General Embryology must be recorded in the index.b) The dean’s measure no.19/2009 incl. corresponding Amendment no.1c) A student can leave the room before the end of time limit due to a good reason (e.g. sudden indisposition) and with the approval of the examiner; however, the test has to be handed in. After a student leaves the exam room and returns the test, it is not possible to continue with the test and this will be evaluated as it is.d) The collected indexes will be returned after the test is evaluated and the results will be recorded in the index, the institute‘s card of the student and in the SIS. The time and place where the indexes are returned will be announced on the institute’s web page (returning of indexes will start no later than 2 working days after the exam).
