Syllabus of lectures of Introduction to Clinical Medicine - Internal part Summary of the main symptoms of internal diseases. An introductory lecture to the course of propedeutics of internal diseases. Importance of history taking for making correct diagnosis. Segments of patient´s history. Main symptoms and signs of internal diseases. Pain. Dyspnoe. Cough. Palpitations. Nausea and vomiting. Constipation. Diarrhoe. Recquired knowledge: anatomy, physiology Overall condition of the patient, the state of consciousness. Mental state of the patient, consciousness, growth, nutrition, standing and walking and their disturbances, voice and speech and their disturbances, body temperature - measurement and different types of temperature curves. Recquired knowledge: anatomy, physiology Findings on the skin. Physical examination of the head and the neck (part I). Examination of the skin - colour, tonus, moisture, temperature, affections. Hair and nails. Shapes of head, hair cover, face, eyes, nose, mouth and throat. Physical examination, normal findings. Recquired knowledge: anatomy, physiology of glandsSyllabus of paediatric part of the clinical propedeuticsPracticals are run on wards of Paediatric Department and on Neonatology unit with ICU of Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (blue building, floor 5, B).Start of lectures and practicals is specified in time schedule.Students may check which meeting room/ward is assigned to their class one week ahead on: faculty website - information and news - program of teaching at Paediatric Dept faculty website - study - time schedules - click on respective study group on a noticeboard on the ground floor G (in front of the auditorium) on noticeboards in the ground floor corridor leading to the auditoriumUpon arrival to Paediatric Dept the students will receive attendance record cards from their study group supervisor and will be introduced to the program of their module. 20% absence will be tolerated (including sick leave, medical appointment or other personal reasons). A student can sign up to the exam from clinical propedeutics electronically once he/she completes all tasks and gets credits into their cards.
