In the first lesson the students will get information about the system of care at the Department of Pediatrics, about the safety conditions, about the physical examination of a child and the basic differences from adults. Students will have the opportunity to see the medical documentation and will learn how to fill it in. 2. Students are required to study the subject before the practical lesson. Assistants select the topics for the next lesson according to the actual situation on the clipboards. 3. During the lesson students work in groups of 2 or 3 and examine children on their own. Then they discuss the cases with the whole group. 4. It is desirable to ask questions and take part in the discussion. 5. There will be tests on the discussed topics during the lessons. 6. A brief examination of knowledge on pediatrics is held during the last lesson. 7. It is possible to attend the lesson with another group with the approval of the assistant. 8. Students will visit all parts of the clinic and will learn how to communicate with all age groups of children. Theoretical knowledge is expected for the practical classes. MICRO-LECTURES The first hour of each practical class is concentrated on a selected topic, especially examination methods. These micro - lectures are given by the specialists. - lOO % attendace is expected. - Absences can be compensated for with the approval of assistants individually or with another group the. - Credit will be given to students who fulfil the attendance requirements /lOO%/

Credit: An active participation on practical courses and reasonable knowledge are demanded. Microlecture is a compulsory part of practice. 100% attendance is required.
