The exam covers the main topics from the four courses below1) Introduction to linguistics (UJ00),2) Morphology (AMOR) ,3) Morpho-syntax (AMOS),4) Syntax (SNX1).including the reading assigned in these courses during the BA study. For the exam, the last two courses (AMOS, SNT1) are most important - if you decide to miss some of the four above, don´t miss the last two.The exam is written, a 60-minute-long test with maximum of 100 points, (min. 60 to pass). The questions in the test will be formed to cover some aspects of the following topics:Topics for the written test - GRFZ -The 20 topics below will be made out into more specific (detailed) questions in the test. Examples will be required and argumentation. General comparison with Czech (or other native tongue) is always welcome.1. Levels of Linguistics - What is grammar - Relation between Morphology and Syntax2. Taxonomy of Morphemes - according to (i) meaning, (ii) pozition, etc.3. Language typology - morphological language typology - classify/compare English and Czech4. Parts of Speech - the Criteria for classification5. Parts of Speech - the Criteria for classification6. Morphology of Nouns (Case, Animacy/Gender), Countability/Number, Determnation)7. The structure of English NP and its sentence functions.8. Morphology of Modifiers (Adjectives and Averbs)9. The structure of English AP (Adjectives and Averbs) and its sentence functions10. Morphology of Verbs (Tense, Aspects, Mood)11. Classification of Verbs according to (i) subcategorization and (ii) NICE12. English verbs be, have and English Modals13. Sentence functions - their nature and taxonomy14. Verbal (clausal) projection: Complement vs. Adjunct vs. Disjunct15. Subjects in English - prototypical characteristics and standard deviations in English16. Objects in English - prototypical characteristics and standard deviations in English17. Passivisation - its format and functions.18. Attributes - prototypical characteristics and standard deviations in English19. Main sentence patterns in declarative and interrogative clauses.20. Complex sentence. Taxonomy of subordinate clauses.

Získané způsobilosti

Absolvent má znalost základních gramatických jevů a to jak teoreticky, tak aplikovaně na angličtině. U těchto témat jsou také schopni základního srovnání příslušných jevů v angličtině a češtině (v rodném jazyce).

Požadavky

Písemná zkouška v angličtině v rozsahu kurzů AMOR, AMOS a SNT1 a předepsané literatury. Ke zkoušce (písemnému testu) si studenti bakalářského studia anglické filologie přinesou vytištěné zápisové listy z IS STAG, z nich je zřejmý výsledek z absolvovaných kurzů z Anglické gramatiky. (AMOR, AMOS, SNT1).U všech studentů je podmínkou absolutoria je však vždy splnění procentního minima (60 procent) u písemného testu.U studentů bakalářského studia Anglické filologie, kteří absolvují úspěšně test, se konečná známka z GRFZ upraví s ohledem na výsledky dvou ze tří kurzů anglické gramatiky (AMOR, AMOS, SNT1), a to v rozsahu 25+25 procent váhy na semináře a 50 procent na výslednou známku z písemného testu (který nesmí být F).
