The course will deal with the historical, geographical, political, and cultural aspects of the region, both as a part of the European continent, and as a specific entity defining itself from within and being defined from without.
Získané způsobilosti
An understanding of the concept of Central Europe as a part of the continent, that is European Union.

Požadavky
The requirements for the four credits that the course may win include class attendance (at least 75 %), reading of assigned literature (checked upon in a final colloquy), weekly short assignments and writing a term-paper on an agreed subject (some three pages plus bibliography, which will also be discussed in the final colloquy).
