Obsah
Besides shaping and self-fashioning regional identities the geographical and topographical dimensions of pre-modern politics in East-Central Europe functioned as spheres of conflict and co-operation between local interest groups and mighty external influences. The course presenting interregional and comparative examples aims to analyse the topographical discourses on the history of the political regions of the territory through highlighting textual as well as visual sources.
Získané způsobilosti
The course embraces the methodological approaches from the textual and visual discourse analysis over the theories of cartographical communication to the new concepts of "spatial turn". Among the core themes the cultural (re)formation of regional political and religious identities, analysis of the territories of cultural & political diversities and the (re)invention of the regional level as a "lieu de mémoire" deserve a special attention.
