Obsah

Content : this subject aims to introduce students to the instruments and regional differences found in Chinese music. Events in the 20th century have heavily influenced the development of Chinese music since 1911; the resulting diversity of Chinese music will be featured.Brief description : the lectures will be of three types: (a) the musical instruments and their development; (b) the music of the different regions; (c) 20th century innovations in Chinese music.

Získané způsobilosti

Skills : English language; ability to read pinyin [Chinese transliteration into Western alphabet] is an advantage. This is not necessary as it is relatively easily learnt.

Požadavky
