Obsah

This course provides an introduction to the field of meta-theoretical inquiry and transdisciplinarity. It then goes on to provide an overview of a number of different meta-theoretical or integrative approaches. These approaches will include the Integral Theory of American philosopher Ken Wilber, the paradigm of Complex Thought developed by French sociologist Edgar Morin, and the Integral Psychology of Sri Aurobindo. Further insights will be drawn from among others the study of Complex Adaptive Systems, Rudolph Steiner?s Anthroposophy, Maria Montessori?s Cosmic Education, and the Critical Realism of Roy Bhaskar. Obviously, the time limitations of this course prevent us from gaining an in depth understanding of these approaches; our aim, instead, is to get an overview of some key principles of these approaches and use these to orientate ourselves with regards to meta-theoretical approaches in general. Throughout the course participants will focus on applying the insights which they gain, supported and inspired by relevant academic literature an case studies, to personal transformation as well as to a major world problem of their choice.
