The workshop discusses the ways of building universities for the future in the context of historical and contemporary experimenting with different kinds of universities such as the Humboldtian model of university with its emphasis on self-cultivation and the Napolean model with its emphasis on technical expertise. It also discusses experimental universities such as Aalborg and Roskilde Universities as well as Visvabharati Santiniketan, the university founded by Rabindranath Tagore. It discusses the ways we can make universities ecoversities, multiveristies and transversities.
