Theory of transport deals with transport systems and processes at the general level, where particular transport modes represent specific cases.The course involves the following topics:Subject, content, methodological apparatus and terminology of the discipline.Transport system, its structure, characteristic and classification.Mathematical models and optimization of transport networks.Traffic demands and their safeguard.Transport service optimization.Service quality. Decision problems in transport systems.Plans of lines and optimization of timetables and circulation plans.Transport flows, their kinetics and control.Time allowance, summary.
