Shopping is everyday part of our lives. Some people like it, they try to find some sales and enjoy the time in shops, but some people hate it and, shop only when it is unpleasant.

Nowadays we have o lot of shopping opportunities, but in the past, there were only small specialized shops called corner shops. I think, it has to be nice, because it had to have amazing warm atmosphere with different kinds of smells, today’s shops are cold, big and you meet here mostly annoyed people.

We usually shop in supermarkets for the food, supermarkets are almost in every town. We can find shopping centres in bigger towns. They have one big advantage. You can find every type of shops and there are cafes, restaurants and services too.

Nowadays there is wide range of products, so shops specialization is necessary. We can shop at bookshops, newsagent’s, stationer’s, music shops, baker’s, stationer’s, music shop, fishmonger’s, grocer’s, butcher’s, off-licence, shoe shop, clothes shop, florist’s, greengrocer’s, chemist’s and many others. Sellers in these shops should be experts, they should know what they sell, and they should answer questions of their costumers, but a lot of them almost don’t know what they sell, and it is a big mistake.

Shops have to have equipment for their costumers and do their shopping more comfortable, for example in many shops are shopping trolleys or baskets. There are fitting rooms in clothes shops. Few years later, we could pay by card only in big shops, but currently we can pay by card almost everywhere. Shops often offer customer’s card for loyal customers. They have some advantages like sales or some presents.

Shops usually has a lot of tricks to make clients spend more money. They use for example attractive shop windows, extra services like packing or delivery and the most specific trick is advertisement.

Haggling in our country isn’t often, sometimes we can meet it in street markets. Haggling is typical for Turkey.

Shops opening is various. Shop centres and supermarkets usually starts at 6 p.m. and ands at 9 or 10 a.m. They are open at weekends and holidays too. Specialized shops are open from 8 p.m. to 5 or 6 a.m. and at the weekends are usually closed.

The most famous shops in UK are Harrods and Marks & Spencer. The interesting thing is that you can buy here clothes and food too.

Use services a lot is typical for UK, but we are skinflints in Czech Republic. But we can use f. e. hairdressers, barbers, beauty salons, nail studios, fitness centres, optician’s, car repair shops, shoe repair shops and many others.

I really like shopping for clothes and fashion. But it is really hard to say nowadays what is fashion and there is one problem in Czech Republic, when someone has different clothes from other people look on him like omg he is weird. It is like we want that every people has the same boring clothes and no fashion. The fascinating thing in the world of fashion is that everything is coming back. Like what was modern 20 years ago, it was taboo 10 years ago and now it is extremely modern and fashion.
