Graduate – a person who has an academic degree from a university
Alumnus/alumna/alumni - a person who has graduated from a particular university
Lecture -a formal talk on a subject given to a group of students
Seminar - an occasion when a teacher or expert and group of students meet to discuss and study
Tutorial -a class given by a teacher to one student or small group of students
Curriculum – a set of subjects studied at a university/course
Postgraduate – a student studying for a more advanced degree
Semester - a period into which the academic year is divided
Thesis/theses - a long piece of writing on a particular subject to get a degree
Undergraduate - a student studying for their first degree at university
Internship - a period of time spent working for a company during studies
Introductory course - a course that provides basic information on a subject and prepares students for higher level courses
Degree - a formal title received after completing study program at university
Enrollment - the number of students that have applied to study in a subject/at university
Freshman - students studying their first year at university
tuition fee - the money students have to pay for their studies
gap year - a year between high school and university that students take as a break
scholarship - financial support given to the students to cover their studies and expenses at university
Trimester - one of three periods into which an academic year is divided
core courses - the main courses in a study program
matriculation - a formal event when students are registered at university
student union - a student organization that supports and represents students
