Other popular music genres are hip-hop or rap among the young or folk, soul or blues among the elderly people.

I have never visited any concert or summer festival yet and in my future I would like to. I think it should be a good experience and a entertaining way of spending my leisure time with friends. But I also think it could be a difficult choice to decide which one concert visit because I really don’t have any favourite bands or singers.

And now I would like to tell something about the theatre. Theatre is also the quite old part of the culture. It entertains people of all countries, of all ages and of all periods. There are three main genres of the theatre plays – comedy, tragedy and musical forms such as the opera, the operetta or the musical.

One of the most famous English playwright is surely William Shakespeare. He’s the one of the greatest playwrights the world has ever seen. He wrote many comedies, like A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Merry Wives of Windsor, a lot of historical plays, such as Richard II or Julius Caesar, and also many tragedies which are probably the most popular, for example Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Othello or Macbeth.

As one of the most important Czech playwrights, I would consider Josef Kajetán Tyl, because he wrote the play Fidlovačka, where the song Kde domov můj first appeared and it later became our national anthem. Tyl also had the first idea of building our National Theatre. Its foundation stone was laid in 1868, but in 1881, the theatre was burnt to the ground. The Czech patriots financed the new construction and the National Theatre was reopened in 1883 with the play Libuše from Smetana. The architects of the theatre were Zítek and Šulc, and the artists who decorated it were Hynais, Mánes, Aleš and Myslbek.

I think that the theatre is good for its live performances because every day the play could be a little different. A nice thing is also an interaction among the actors and the audience and the actors themselves say that the people is the thing which makes a good play.

I personally, I don’t go to the theatre very often because I don’t like classical plays and they are too long and boring for me. I went to see some performance only with school.

But recently I visit a musical Robin Hood in Prague’s theatre Kalich because my grandma won free tickets at my prom so she asked me to join her. It was amazing with all the singing and dancing and the story was also interesting and funny. The singer in the role of Robin has a very nice voice and is a convincing actor, too. If I had an oportunity I would like to see it again because there were sometimes so many things happening on the stage at the same time so I could’t catch them all.

And if I could visit New York someday I would like to see some musical on Broadway.

Some people also like to go to the galleries and museums to look at the paintings and other artworks. But I prefer exhibitions with artifacts which are parts of the history, so I enjoyed the exposition of the Inca gold and of the artifacts from the Titanic.
