NEW ZEALAND

New Zealand is an island country located in the South Pacific Ocean, south-east of Australia. It's made up of two main islands – the North Island and the South Island, and many smaller islands. The country is known for its stunning and diverse nature, including mountains, glaciers, lakes, volcanoes, long beaches, and rain forests. Because of this unique landscape, New Zealand is a very popular destination for tourists. Many people go there to hike, ski, surf, or simply enjoy the unique atmosphere and discover the nature.

The original inhabitants of New Zealand are the Māori people, who arrived more than a thousand years ago. Māori culture is an important part of modern New Zealand society. Their traditional art, language and customs are still respected and celebrated. One of the best-known Māori traditions is the haka, a ceremonial dance that is often performed by the national rugby team, the All Blacks, before their matches. New Zealand society is multicultural today, influenced by both Māori heritage and European settlers, mainly from the United Kingdom.

New Zealand is a well-developed and peaceful country with a high quality of life. The capital city is Wellington, although the largest city is Auckland. People are known for being friendly, relaxed, and welcoming to visitors. The country has a strong economy based on agriculture, tourism, film production, and high-quality products such as wool, milk products, and wine. New Zealand was also used as the film location for famous movies like The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, which made its landscapes world-famous.

The climate in New Zealand is mild, with warm summers and relatively mild winters. Because it is located in the Southern Hemisphere, the seasons are opposite to those in Europe – Christmas, for example, takes place in summer, so many people celebrate it outdoors, often with a barbecue or fresh seafood instead of a traditional winter dinner.

Life in New Zealand is closely connected to nature. The official language there is the Māori, although English is widely used there. Today, the total population is 4.3 million. New Zealand is a constitutional monarchy, which means democratic decisions are made by the parliament, but the British monarch is still the head of state. The effective head of the country is the prime minister, who sits in the House of Representatives, which is the only chamber of parliament.

New Zealand is closely connected with adrenaline sports such as bungee jumping, which was actually invented in New Zealand.

Overall, New Zealand is a beautiful and unique country with rich culture, friendly people and amazing nature.
