The British are very polite and have good manners, especially at the table. They are never tired of saying “Thank you”, “I’m sorry”, “Excuse me” or “I beg you pardon”. They don’t kiss hello as people do on the continent. The English word “gentleman” means an honest man with good manners all over the world.
Cuisine
Typical British meals are fish and chips, roast beef and Yorkshire pudding and Christmas pudding, the preparation of a Christmas pudding takes some days or even weeks. English breakfast includes fried bacon, sausages, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms and tea. In the afternoon the British have tea (usually around 5 o’clock) and it includes a cup of tea with sandwiches and cakes. Dinner is the main meal of the day, it is often convenience food bought in a shop and heated at home. Chicken tikka masala belongs to most favourite meals nowadays because Indian cuisine is very popular in the UK.
