Summary: The results suggest that students from backgrounds with different culture are successful in adaptation to life at a university in UK. ¨
The results suggest that besides culture, age, previous experience abroad and language proficiency are key factors in the successful acculturation of foreign students at British Universities.
Implications:
The research implies that the most aid should be given to/ the most attention should be kept on those who are the most vulnerable: The relatively old ones who have never travelled before and do not speak English well.
Limitations: There is not definitive conclusion about adapting of overseas students at a university in Britain because of limitations such as age of the students or their previous experience of living abroad.
Although quite a large number of questioners were evaluated in the research, representing various countries from Asia, nations from other continents such as America, Europe, Africa and Australia, were underrepresented.
