One of the most serious challenges young people face these days are drugs. The most frequently classifications used is into soft and hard drugs.

Examples of soft drugs include cigarettes or caffeine. Symptoms can be red eyes, tiredness, and joking, uncoordinated movements. Consequences can be cancer, depression, anxiety.

Hard drugs often include illegal drugs only such as heroin, cocaine, sedatives, and adhesives. Legal hard drugs only include alcohol.

Teenagers which are in drug addicts may start dressing or behaving in a new way, or even leave home suddenly. They get out of touch with long-time friends and for new ones who have similar interests and face the same problems.

Another problem is school. Some people are too lazy to go there, sometimes they play truant because they are afraid about mark, teachers of schoolmates, whom can bulling him or her.

Teenage years can be very difficult. They don’t have enough money. They can earn some money at brigade-work, but that disappear so fast as that came up.

A big problem for young people is unemployment. Most of employers and firms want employ someone who already have experience. And when you leave university and have no job before and not even yet you haven’t a right to accept burro.

In our country there is accommodation problem, too. In large cities most of young people live with their parents or grandparents, because here is very high absence cheep flats.

YOUTH: the nicest time of life, young person is fit, strong, have enough energy to face problems, tries new things, people tolerate his/her faults because of lack of experience. 2 groups of young people: teenagers, people between 20 - 30. Young people want to go their own way, to finish school study, find a job, have family and children, to buy or build a house, to have rights and liberty, get their personal goals…
Teenagers: special group, not children neither adults, strongly influenced by friends, parents, teachers and youth culture.
Young people: are a bit different, finished school, have job, earning a living, different problems than teenagers (to find a place to live, they are married and have children – aware of social problems, problems in the world)…

APPEARANCE: important to be sexy, stylish, attractive for the opposite sex, to have good make-up, hairstyle, good figure, they are on a diet, go to gym, do sport, girls have often problems with eating habits (they eat not enough, anorexia, bulimia), boys as well (gym, fitness, steroids, vitamins to take on the weigh, steroids…).
MODE: bit importance for young people, they want to say something with their style, to have best clothes, shoes, prefer brand name clothing, some of them are well dressed, the other attract attention with specific clothing, piercing, hairstyle… For many of young people is good mode style the most important thing, but also behaviour and character are important.
CHARACTER: determined by family, parents, influenced by friends, schoolmates, also by era (now different conditions to live, new inventions, school, free time, duties…). Each person had different character – positive & negative features:
Positive: talent, honesty, bravery, courage, generosity, willingness, care, responsibility, diligence (usilovnosť)…
Negative: selfishness, violence, malicious (zlomyselný), carefree (ľahkovážny), curiosity, stubbornness (tvrdohlavosť)…
INTERESTS: various – mode, music, disco, travelling, cinema, TV, dance, musical instrument…

THEIR PROBLEMS: are different, problems and duties at school, with teacher and schoolmates, parents (some parents do not have time for they children because of work) and siblings at home, with pocket money, friends, girlfriend/ boyfriend, appearance, generation problems – generation gap, with job (some have part-time job to earn money), with household work (lazy to help at home)…
GENERATION GAP: troubles, misunderstanding between 2 generation (parents-child, parents-grandparents, child-grandparents), young people change habits, hobbies, friends – that worry parents, they are confused, grandparents are too interested and not satisfied with way how their children rare their grandchildren, important is conversation, compromises.

NEGATIVE FEATURES: influence of friends can be positive/negative (smoking, theft – krádež, battles, scramble – bitka, alcohol, drugs, criminality), solution (therapies, communication with family & psychologists…)
Violence: School (class collective does not accept, ignores somebody), disco (scrambles)…
Alcohol, drugs: influenced by family, have money, incorrect friends, problems – bad solution – try drugs, alcohol

POSSIBILITIES: in this modern era – many chances to study (various primary, secondary schools, universities, language schools, courses, study abroad...), or work (a lot of free positions – gastronomy, science, services, work abroad).
