Whales and dolphins live in the North Atlantic, and the Western North Pacific.
They are killed in collisions with ships, or they are caught up in fishing nets.
Next, whales are killed for commercial reasons.
Polar bears live in the Arctic Sea. Their food is seals which live under the sea ice
in winter. Polar bears need the sea ice to walk on it and get to the holes which
seals made in the ice. Due to climatic changes the Arctic sea ice is melting and
bears can´t get to their food.

Domestic animals are kept for products – meat, milk, eggs, skin, fur, for work.
Pets are kept for pleasure, fun, entertainment, people want to have a company,
blind people need guide dogs.
Some people say that pets live in captivity in flats and houses. Is it OK?
There´s nothing wrong with having pets if people know how to look after
them and don´t mistreat them. But the problem is where to place mistreated
animals because there are not enough pounds and not enough money to feed
these animals.

It´s not natural if wild animals lose their natural habitat and freedom and live in
captivity in zoos. But on the other hand, animals face many dangers in their
natural habitat. They often become victims of hunters and predators and lose
their natural habitat.
Most modern zoos keep wild animals for educational and research purposes
and also because they want to save endangered species from extinction in the
wilds. And of course, animals are also kept in zoos for entertainment of visitors.
Fortunately, animals are treated well in most zoos.
