promotes individual learning and research, improves writing and reading skills, makes educational material accessible, improves students attitude towards learning, prepares students for change, helps students with special needs:

problems at school

- cheating – dishonestly or unfair act in order to gain an advantage

- taking drugs, alcohol,...

- bullying – someone who hurts or frightens someone else, often over a period of time, and often forcing them

to do something that they do not want to do

- both teachers and schoolmates may act as bullies

- children lag behind and they want to get out of their duties

- to cut classes (chodit za školu)

uniforms

- most school in England require children to wear a school uniform.

- boys: long grey or black trousers (shorts may be worn in the Summer), white shirt, school tie, jumper or sweater

with the school logo on and the colour is the choice of the schools, black shoes
- girls: as boys, girls may wear skirts, during the summer term girls often wear summer school dresses.

- why wear an uniform?

- when we go on a school trip we all look the same and so can't get lost.

- stops kids worrying about what to wear each day.

- everyone is equal.

- parents don't have to shop for expensive and varied wardrobes for their children to keep up with or show-off to other children

- wearing a uniform instils a sense of pride and discipline in students

- uniforms deny students their right to personal identity and self-expression
