Nowadays there are more and more young people who prefer to stay single, though they live together and raise children. It is popular and I haven’t got any problem with it when parents and their children are satisfied how they live.

Some families are very child-centred = they put children’s interests first. Many modern families live rather differently, and because of this some people think that the family unit is dying and society is being weakened.
Modern family – many couples get married, but others live together without getting married. I think it is normal be a single mother or single father.
Traditional family – a few years ago, couples living together usually got married when they wanted to start a family. The typical family was a husband and wife, two or three children. The father spent all day at work and made most of decisions. The mother stayed at home to manage the house and look after the children.
