2.  LAW OF TORTS 

A nuisance (narušení pořádku) - as anything that interferes witch the rights of a citizen. 
A private nuisance (rušení vlastn./osob. práv) - as an unlawful interference the use or enjoyment 
of another person´s land. 
A public or common nuisance - as an unlawful act or omission which endangers the health, safety, 
or comfort of the public or obstructs the exercise of a common right. 
A trespass to the person (přečin proti svobodě člověka) - as an intentional interference with the 
person of liberty of another. 
A battery (ublížení na zdraví) - as the intentional application of force to another person. 
A  trespass  to  land  (neoprávněný  vstup  na  cizí  pozemek)  -  as  the  direct  interference  with  the 
possession of anoter person´s land without lawful authority. 
A defamatory / falce statement (pomlouvačné tvrzení)- as the statement that tends to injure the 
plaintiff´s reputation, or causes him to be shunned by ordinary members of society. 
An intentionally caused mental distress - as the case when the defendant has willfully subjected 
the plaintiff to unnecessary emotional disturbance. 
An invasion of privacy (narušení soukromí) - as an unreasonable interference with privacy. 
A fraud (podvod) - as a filing the income tax return with the intention of tax evasion. 
An  unfair  competition    (nefér  soutěž)-  as  an  imitating  signs,  shapes,  advertisement  and  the 
packaging of goods of a competitor. 
A tort (přečin/delikt)- as a civil wrong for which the injured party may recover damages. 
A  trespass  (úmyslný  zásah  do  cizího  práva)  -  as  an  unlawful  act  causing  injury  to  the  person, 
property, or rights of another. 
A conversion (odnětí držby) - as the civil side of the crime of theft – personal prop.is taken by the 
defend. without owner´s permission. 
A negligence (nedbalost) - as a failure (selhání) to follow the degree of care that is owed to the 
plaintiff. 
A  defamation  (urážka  na  cti)  -  as  a  statement  that  is  falce  and  harms  the  reputation  of  an 
individual. 
A  malpractise  (zanedbání  pov.  péče  při  výkonu  povolání)  -  as  a  failure  by  a  physician  or  other 
professional  to  use  the  care  and  skill  that  other  members  of  their  profession  would  use  under 
similar circumstances.
